Our Story

Eaglets caters for pre-Grade R children and is situated on a property leading off the parking area, east of Hudson Park Primary School. It came into being as a result of the purchase of this property, in 2008, and Hudson Park's amalgamation with a well-established pre-primary school in Vincent, called Kleuterhoekie.

Kleuterhoekie Pre-Primary School

Founded in 1967, Kleuterhoekie Pre-Primary School originally catered for Afrikaans speaking children. Ms A McCloud was its first Principal.

During the 1970s, Ms A McCall took over leadership, and the school became dual-medium, under the control of the Department of Education. Ms J Ahlschlager followed Ms McCall as Principal, in 1981.

Hudson Park Eaglets Is Born

Kleuterhoekie moved to its Hudson Park home in July 2009 under Ms Ahlschlager's leadership. In 2011, Ms B Moss was appointed as Head of Department, and after her retirement, in 2019, Ms B Flugel assumed leadership.

The school was renamed in 2012 and is now known as Hudson Park Eaglets.

We regard education as a family affair, and encourage our parents to serve as members of our Governing Body, Mothers' Committee, and Fathers' Committee.

Hudson Park Eaglets

Hudson Park Eaglets is now a private school with its own Governing Body, which determines its policies and controls its financial affairs and assets. The land and buildings belong to the Hudson Education and Development Trust, with the proviso that the school remain part of the Hudson Park community and the feeder school for our Foundation Phase.
