History

Relevance

History is extremely relevant to us in everyday life, because knowing what has gone before can help us to avoid the mistakes of the past and do better in the future. It teaches us to think in an analytical, questioning way. What happened? When? Why? How was History changed? How does this affect us today?

Independent Thinking

Such activity leads to the development of higher order thinking skills, which are prized in all walks of life. Importantly, it also stimulates a measure of intellectual independence, as learners see the good and bad in humanity and begin to form their own opinions on events.
