History and Geography are grouped together in Social Sciences, so as to encourage learners to view one in the context of the other, and to look with open minds at the world beyond their own experience.
As they acquire in-depth knowledge, learners are required to think critically and to speculate, debate, make connections, make informed choices, identify key issues, and look at cause and effect. This activity develops higher order thinking skills and it stimulates intellectual independence, encouraging learners to see the good and bad in humanity and form their own opinions on events.
Learners may choose either isiXhosa or Afrikaans as their First Additional Language.
We offer tuition in 3 Arts, and learners choose 2 of these upon which to focus.
